Exercise #16 in Navigating New Technologies is about Wikis.
Almost everyone uses Wikipedia, don't they? Wikipedia has become well known and frequently used by myself and almost everyone I know. It has become common to quick look up some information in Wikipedia. It can be very useful. It is quick and easily accessible. With the cautionary note that it is also good to get information from other resources as well. To cross reference and cross check information is another way to get more information. So I think it is a good thing. I did read the Discovery Resources to learn more about wikis. I really like the SJCPL Subject Guides site and the Book Lovers Wiki too.
